Distillery Experience

Just 25 minutes south of Hobart, you’ll find Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in the Huon Valley – also the home of our distillery, where we’ll introduce you to the process of creating our unique cider spirits.

The Distillery Experience

Get up close and personal with Antoinette – our copper Alembic Charentais still – she’s one of a kind in Australia.

You’ll taste our suite of spirits including the unaged Blanco apple spirit and several expressions of our Fine Apple Brandy.

Over the 45 minutes, you’ll also enjoy tales from the Huon Valley’s history, as you enjoy your cider and spirit tasting, matched with house made chocolate and local cheese.

The Premium Distillery Experience

Spend 1.5 hours as a special guest of the distiller. Get up close to the working copper Charentais Alembic still and learn about the French art of cider distillation.

First taste the cider, then the see how Charles Oates apple spirits are made and aged to create Fine Apple Brandy.

Be guided through a tasting of our Apple Blanco and several expressions of our Fine Apple Brandy, each perfectly matched with small bites and a shared cheese platter. Round out the experience with a Apple Blanco Cocktail on the Apple Shed deck.

A memorable experience for anyone with an interest in craft spirits and the distillation process. Maximum of ten people per group.
